Frequently Asked Questions

What is rekeying? Why do we do it?

Rekeying is the process of manually duplicating an estimate that the insurance company originally wrote into the collision shop’s own estimating software. A body shop will typically receive an estimate in one estimating system (CCC, Mitchell, Audatex) that needs to be rekeyed as a digital copy. Employees are trained to sit at a computer and rekey each estimate, one at a time, line by line. Before Estify, there was no other solution. Body shops had been using this approach for decades and there was no reason to change it because that was all the industry knew. Also known as matching, line matching or duplicating, with Estify, rekeying is a thing of the past!

How do I use Transfer?

First, log into your account and upload a PDF of the estimate you want rekeyed. You can also take a picture of the estimate using the Estify app. Second, choose the platform you want the estimate to be rekeyed into. Lastly, your estimate is ready to be imported and you can write as you always do. You will be notified via email or text when it is ready, no rekeying necessary!

How fast is the system? What are average turnaround times?

Many factors affect the speed of our system. Obviously the smaller the estimate, the faster the turnaround. The time it takes from the moment you upload an estimate to the moment that estimate is returned to you is under 60 minutes. The estimate itself is completed within 15-20 minutes.

How does Transfer work?

Transfer works because of a combination of amazing people and innovative ideas! It’s our In-N-Out secret sauce and our Coca-Cola recipe, it’s our “lock it in a safe and throw away the key.” Aristotle said, “The secret of business is to know something that nobody else knows,” so we’re going to stick to that. What I can tell you is that Transfer works, and it works well!

What is the onboarding process?

Transfer is designed to have very few onboarding requirements, the goal is a system that you can learn in a matter of minutes. There are a couple required details about you and your business but once a subscription plan is chosen, you are ready to upload. From there, your estimates are delivered to Estify to be rekeyed. The entire process should take less than five minutes.

Do we resell any data from the estimates? How secure is my information?

Never! Your data will never be rented, sold, or shown to anyone other than Estify employees and yourself. Estify uses data encryption, a security socket layer, an open system interconnection model, transport layer security, digital certificates, authentication, and advanced hashing methods. Essentially, we provide advanced managed security and encryption to protect and monitor not only your uploaded estimates, but also your personal data.

How does billing work?

Customers pay monthly based on their subscription plan and every plan is designed to fit exactly what each body shop needs. However, if you feel the need to change your plan or even cancel for any reason, there are no fees to do so. You are welcome to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time with no charge. Unfortunately, Estify does not support pay per use plans.

What does Transfer cost?

We use the same principle as Costco. The more you purchase, the cheaper they are. Because prices vary so wildly with the different options we can include, it would be useless to list them all here. We try to design plans that fit any budget and we can work around your needs. Call us at 888-708-4950 to find the plan that works best for you!

What if I have a problem with your system? Do you have a support team?

Absolutely! The Estify support team is one of the bests and they are happy to assist with any issues that may occur. You can always reach one of our friendly experts by email at support@estify.com.
